New Sculptural Wood Series by Dana Todd Pope.
Approx 1ft x 2ft. Acrylic, gold leaf, & pumice gel on maplewood.
This latest four-piece collection is a bold fusion of fine art and dimensional design. Each sculptural portrait is hand-carved from maple using a Dremel and handheld rotary saw, then layered with acrylic paint, pumice gel, and genuine gold metal leaf. The blue hues—anchored in Prussian, Ultramarine, and Phthalo—are a signature palette for Dana Todd Pope, symbolizing the throat chakra and the power of women finding their voice.
Finished in high-gloss archival varnish, every piece radiates with color, texture, and presence. The gold leaf earrings pay homage to richness of the African diaspora, while the layered wood forms offer an abstracted crown of resilience.
